This policy describes how Class Action Tracker selects, verifies, and maintains the cases in its database. Our goal is accuracy, neutrality, and transparency.

Who we are

Class Action Tracker is published by Automaite Inc., a Canadian technology company. We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. We do not refer users to specific lawyers or law firms as part of any paid arrangement. See our full About page.

How cases are selected

A case is added to our database when all three of the following are true:

1. A class has been certified by a court, OR a settlement has received preliminary court approval.
2. A public claim process exists with an open or upcoming deadline.
3. Public notice has been issued — through court filings, settlement administrator websites, or official press releases.

We do not add cases based on attorney submissions, press releases from law firms, or paid placements. Editorial decisions are made independently.

What we exclude

• Cases in early litigation with no certified class
• Matters under seal or subject to confidentiality orders
• Criminal proceedings
• Individual suits (not class actions)
• Cases where no public claim process exists

Primary sources

Case information is compiled from:

• PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) — US federal filings
• Provincial court registries (BC, ON, QC, AB) — Canadian filings
• Official settlement administrator websites — deadlines, eligibility, amounts
• Court-approved class action notices — the authoritative source for each case
• Regulator announcements — CFPB (US), Competition Bureau (CA), provincial regulators

We cite primary sources only. We do not use law firm press releases, litigation funding announcements, or legal news sites as primary sources.

How data is maintained

Our database is refreshed daily by automated systems that monitor court dockets and settlement administrator websites. When a deadline changes, settlement amount is revised, or a case closes, our records are updated within 24 hours of the change becoming publicly available.

Corrections policy

We take accuracy seriously. If you believe a case deadline, settlement amount, eligibility criterion, or status is incorrect:

• Email: corrections@automaite.ca
• Include: the case name, the incorrect field, the correct value, and a link to the primary source.

We review and respond to all substantive corrections within 5 business days.

Advertising and conflicts of interest

Law firms and settlement administrators may pay a flat monthly fee to be listed alongside relevant case types on this platform. This is the sole source of revenue for Class Action Tracker. The following safeguards apply:

• Advertising fees have no effect on which cases are included or excluded.
• Advertising fees have no effect on case rankings or display order within the database.
• We never sell user data, lead information, or contact details.
• Advertisers are identified as such wherever they appear.
